Where do you source the auto
/ car spare-parts you sell?
We have a regular supply of used cars and spare parts, and
as long-established car salvage
experts, we have access to them from a variety of sources,
including auctions, garages, private sales and bona fide insurance
companies.
Are used car spare-parts offered in
a mail order service?
Yes, the used car parts you need
can be posted direct to you. Our staff make every effort to
locate the spare parts you need and, generally, if you order
the parts before 12 noon, we aim for next day delivery. There
is a small administration charge and carriage to pay but,
as with all auto spares sold from our premises, we give a
30-day guarantee on items sold by mail order.
How many vehicles do you have in stock?
Our car stock is constantly changing. At any one time, we
will have between 250 to 1000 cars and vans on site, all at
ground level for easy access and dismantling. The 20-acre
site gives us adequate room to display all our stock.
What is a National Parts Locator?
NPL is a network of vehicle salvage and vehicle breakers yards
that, together, form a national resource for the provision
of used motor spares. As a member of this organisation, Melbourne
Autos can help you to find the vehicle or accessory you
need, even if they don't actually have the item you need on
site.
What Health and Safety precautions
are you required to take?
As with all vehicle recycling centres and breakers yards,
we are bound by strict rules and regulations. We adhere to
all the required checks, drills and precautions, to ensure
that we meet the necessary standards, with regard to procedures
and equipment servicing.
Do you give discount to the trade
buyer?
In reality, because we want to be competitive and give customers
a good deal, nearly all our car spares are sold at trade prices.
A fair price means that you will come back to us next time
and not go elsewhere! However, we do try to cut our prices
further for regular garage customers and build up good working
relationships in the trade too, as a consequence.
What cards do you accept?
For mail order, most people find it convenient to pay by credit
or debit card. We accept most cards.
Is it just cars you stock, or do you salvage other vehicles?
We have range of ever-changing stock - from minis to twin-wheel
transits. As a rule of thumb, we take in all
types of vehicles, up to 35cwt vans so we can help you
with a wide variety of spares. Including the unusual!
